Test Applications
Our test applications cover a variety of needs to ensure you get the most accurate and reliable results. With unpowered curve tracing, you can efficiently measure against ground pins for dependable outcomes. Powered curve tracing, when paired with bench power supplies, offers precise results, perfect for different testing scenarios. We also cater to unique testing needs with custom analog measurements for mixed-signal devices. Plus, our microscope fixturing makes it easy to position devices under a microscope for optical fault localization tests, boosting both accuracy and ease of use.
Compatible Fixtures for the Manual Switch Box
Versatile and Reliable Fixture Options
The manual switch box is designed to be compatible with a wide range of fixtures, accommodating diverse testing needs and setups. This flexibility ensures that you can efficiently and accurately conduct tests on various devices, regardless of their specifications.
950 Series Fixture

950 Series Fixture with Mini-Card DUT with Socket
A standout choice among users, the 950 series fixture is celebrated for its robust design and versatility. It can easily accommodate different types of devices and tests, making it an ideal option for many standard testing applications. The 950 series provides a reliable and durable solution, ensuring consistent performance and ease of use in various testing scenarios. Mini cards and Extended mini cards support 1.5 inch sockets and are durable because they have no pins to break off.
Custom Fixtures
Custom fixtures are available for a range of test situations. These made-to-order solutions are tailored to fit specific testing scenarios, ensuring precision and ease in testing specialized or uncommon devices and packages. Custom fixtures Are often permanently mounted on a tool as a test fixture or on a microscope stage enabling quick change out of the DUT boards while maintaining benchtop compatibility.
Whether you choose the popular 950 series fixture or opt for custom solutions, the manual switch box offers a flexible and reliable foundation for your testing processes. This compatibility enhances both efficiency and accuracy, ensuring that you can meet all your testing requirements with confidence.
Compatibility Adapters
DIY Adapters
RTI's DIY Breakout Boards offer engineers unparalleled flexibility and control in their circuit design projects. These breakout boards are designed to seamlessly integrate into complex setups by combining the reliable VECTOR 8029 plated through hole (PTH) breadboard with our RTI R1 or RMLT DUT board base plates. The industry-standard PGA footprint and 100-pin connectors allow for straightforward and precise manual wiring, giving engineers the ability to tailor connections to meet specific project needs.
Built with a focus on accessibility and customization, RTI's boards feature openings in the PCB bases for easy backside access, making it simple to adjust or modify connections as required. The boards are compatible with 2.54mm pitch surface mount test sockets, ensuring smooth integration with existing tools and components. Whether you need to wire directly to PGA or connector pins, RTI's breakout boards provide the reliability and precision engineers need to achieve optimal performance in their circuit designs.
Advanced Configurations for Manual Switch Box
For devices with over 96 I/Os, multiple switch boxes can be linked to manually bias each signal, with each box handling a separate 96-pin bank on the device. Universal and dedicated adapter boards enhance cable management and enable custom signal routing between the DUT and its connector. Custom removable overlays simplify setup and operation by uniquely identifying each switch and banana jack, making it user-friendly when using multiple switch boxes.
Binding Posts
Manual switch box with binding posts (red)
With the binding posts on the manual switch box, you have a versatile solution for connecting a wide range of wires and tools. They can hold loose wires without connectors by trussing the wire to the binding post that is then inserted into the switch box. You can use this flexibility to bypass or shorten connections between pins or introduce loose wire signals, enabling adaptable configurations for different testing requirements.
R1, R2, and R4 DUT Board Configurations
A DUT board with one or more 96-channel 100-pin connector cable directly to the manual switch box. Plated thru-holes for manual wiring of each I/O are located close to the onboard connector. Compatible with all RTI test sockets and most 3rd party test sockets.
For example; A DUT board with two or four 96-channel 100-pin connectors cables directly to two or four manual switch boxes. Standoffs between the DUT board and base plate allow for socket and cable clearance when the board is turned over to perform backside test. Compatible with RTI's low-profile FA test sockets.
Custom configurations of 6, 8 or more connectors are possible but if you have that many pins, RTI probably has a more efficient fixture system to offer.
Optional Accessories for Manual Switch Box
Seamless Upgrade to Automated Curve Tracers
Transitioning from manual to automated testing has never been easier with RTI's MultiTrace system. Most DUT boards and fixtures you use with our manual switch boxes are fully compatible with MultiTrace, allowing for a seamless upgrade. As your testing needs expand, simply add more switch boxes or upgrade to our MultiTrace Curve Tracer.
